Ingalls-DeMars Painting was formed in 2003 by Marlow and Brita Ingalls DeMars. Brita Ingalls DeMars studied studio painting at Parsons in NYC, and later worked 5 years "on the road" for Evergreene Studios of NYC and John Canning Co. of CT. Marlow DeMars started as an interior house painter in the late 90s and was also employed by John Canning. There he was fortunate to work in some of America's historic buildings including the U.S. Treasury, Boston Public Library, Yale music Auditorium, PA. State Capitol, and the VP's office in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. Both Brita and Marlow also worked in several large churches and cathedrals learning traditional decorative techniques from master tradesmen. Since 2003 Ingalls-DeMars has traveled for projects to New Orleans, Louisiana, Utah, Maine, and in between. After living in Maine for 5 years they settled in Lebanon CT. Off the beaten path, Lebanon is an agricultural center in the "quiet corner" of CT, but within close range to Boston, NY and other large cities. Ingalls-DeMars is a company with professional skills in a variety of media. Whether repairing drywall and repainting a living room, or gold leafing a ceiling, they take pride in knowing all facets of the job from preparation to finish, completing quality work, and never "cutting corners". Both Brita and Marlow enjoy sharing their skills through teaching classes and training crews to execute work on site. Ingalls-DeMars Painting Studio provides a complete package of services from design to installation for the benefit of both contractors and clients. Specialty services include; gold/metal leafing, lime plasters, Trompe L’ Oeil, Wood graining, and other decorative finishes. Ingalls-DeMars Painting for successful, quality project completion.
